Escat 50

Modified imidazole catalyst, masterbatched at 50% active level in castor wax, for accelerating the curing of powder coatings based on the carboxyl-epoxy reaction, or for pure epoxy systems as well. Typical systems include hybrids such as polyester-epoxy, carboxyl acrylic-epoxy and polyesters cured by GMA-functional acrylics. Polyester-TGIC and polyester-PT-910 reactions can also be accelerated; key benefit of incorporating: reduction in curing temperature or shortening of the required baking time without sacrificing DOI or flow and leveling properties, less yellowing than 2-methylimidazole-based catalysts; recommended dosage: 0.3-0.6% (based on total formulation); easily dispersible.
